My Love For Poetry

You ask for me to write on poetry

On what this literary means to me

It’s hard to find words to express

How simply writing relieves my stress

It’s more than just some words that rhyme

It’s more than just a pass of time

It’s a healthy way for me to show

All thoughts I want to just let go

As I write, I feel so free

Head high, and show the real me

Poetry is a way to just let loose

from all the hurt and live’s abuse

Poetry has become my all

and even helped break down my wall

So let me share something with you:

you have a friend when feeling blue

Don’t hesitate, pick up the pen

Close your eyes and count to ten

Poetry is me; it’s who I am

It might even get me the scholarship slam!

I write poetry because it's my passion. It's my passion because it's my escape. I need an escape because life isn't always perfect. Life's imperfection makes me stronger. It is my drive to move forward when I am stuck, my determination to get up when I have fallen, and my ambition to never give up when all seems impossible. - JG

This is good. I love the simple honesty of what poetry means to you. I share the similar view.
