My Loving God
My Loving God
I sin and you drop everything
and run after me.
You throw your arm over my
convulsing shoulder
and comfort my aching soul.
I scream the agonies of guilt
and flash the anger I have
at myself.
You rub the tears away
and melt my wrinkled brow.
My savage likeness shadows
Your peacful way.
You clear with one stroke
the ugly misfortune
of my plight.
I range to grasp thy hallowed neck
and pull you close against the
Demon's laugh.
Your tried and true ways
catch my fears and cage the wanton thing.
I cannot thank you now, for
the precipice is still near
and my meager defense lies
shattered at my feet.
My cold hands trace the folds
of your cheek. My
painful tears, once cold,
lie hot upon your breast.
Only now do I see clearly
the wound.
Devastatng and threatening.
Your hand heals and
you put the healing salve
in my hand.
You kiss me gently on
my tear stained soul.
You rise and walk with me a step.
I feel alone again.
I must think to hold the salve on my wound.
