To My Marius

He acts more like a boyfriend than not Like I'm all that he's got. Yet when he describes her to me I don't know exactly who to be. Do I be his "best bud" Even though I'll feel like crud? Or do I play the ignorant part Instead of ripping my heart apart. His words can cut me like knives Like a scene from Les Mis and not our lives. I know I'd miss him in shades of green But I can't continue just being his Eponine. What do you do to stop the heart break When it seems every option you make, Does nothing but cause more pain Whether by extreme loss or grand gain. If only he could see me, The way I want it to be.
