My Mentor
A great power in my life
Wonderful teacher to aid
Helping me through all my strife
Here when I’m brave or afraid
Words that penetrate quite deep
Becoming a constant friend
When I smile or when I weep
My broken heart, it will mend
Always changing, different
Yet still the comfort I need
From harsh world, brings deliverance
Time to time need to reread
Taught necessary lessons
To me throughout the long years
Silently answers questions
Both my teachers and my peers
My constant companion
Treating me with compassion
