my mentor

You gave me roots

Struggled against the odds

Keeping me safe

Saving me from abuse

Fighting the law to keep me safe

Having to be my mother and father

Working day and night to keep me clothed and fed

Alone we survived

Alone we thrived

Now you give me wings

With everything you have taught me to keep myself safe

Ill fly wih those wings

Knowing I can always come back to you where it's safe.

Thank you Mom
