My Mentor: A Book

A world born from a case of paper

The wisdom and ideas you’ve given to me

Will help me grow stronger later

As I work for the future I see

You’re not just an idea but a mentor

For you do not talk nor do you see

But you show me a world to explore

That allows only me to be free

Through my hardships and stress

The crying nights and angry pouts

You take away all the mess

And dim away the sounds of shouts

For a book is not just a tool of writing

It is used as an escape from my broken reality

To help me guide myself through a life of fighting

As I discover who I am in a world I built for me
