My Message to Happiness

Dear Happiness,

I miss you

You’ve always handled me with care

Made me see reality with just a quick smack

Yet, all those sweet whispers and promises of honey had me wondering

Do you really love me or are you in love with the idea of loving me

You say that I'm not worth your time, yet you,

Happiness

My lovely friend know you're lonely and visit quite often

You come during the day bringing smiles and false security

Yet disappear during the night, leaving me five feet deep in obscurity

How do you have the right to be angry at my doubt?

When you only show for entertainment

My thoughts a circus for your enjoyment

You gave up on me, so I gave up on you

Every tear that I cried for your return, burned

I was blinded by my need for your company

Drowning in learned insecurities

Sadness had to let me cry on her shoulder

You said you wouldn't make compromises

but you seem to make to many

Why must you love so many others but not me!

I'm jealous

Happiness, you're such a fake friend

Yet I’d do anything for you

Why do you always go missing when I need you most,

Do you not like the home I created for you!

Is there some way I can change your ways dear friend, and lover

Happiness, stop loving the idea of loving me for it is fools gold

Politely gilded

I love you but I’m leaving you

You cruel ways are no longer needed

From the person who wishes you health and prosperity
