My Mind
What to do
When your mind has a million thoughts at once
and you don't know how to quiet them?
I wish my mind would just be quiet
Instead, it races
Like a Formula One driver approaching the finish line in a blaze of glory
I have ideas for movies
and then separate mini-ideas that sprout and branch off of those ideas
It's exhausting
My mind is a dog on crack
endlessly chasing its tail
I am on the floor
My robe is getting dirtied by the carpet
I lost the charm to that little Zuni bear necklace
that I found and am now wearing to make myself seem more hip
Even though it probably carries much more significance than my shallow interpretation
it is 4 am
These are my twenties
I wish my mind would just shut the fuck up
