My Mom

You hold your head high above negativity

Exude much grace and elegance

As if you were the Queen of Sheba.

You work your fingers to the bone.

Provide for your young.

Countless hours of working hard

just to be noticed for something good

instead of the negative stereotypes

the world places upon your shoulders.

Your price is far above rubies

Your crown is made of kinks and coils.

The way your skin glistens in the sun

The way your body dances

With every step tells the story of where you come from.

You put others before yourself always caring

For the people around you.

You are:

a nurse, a lawyer, a teacher, a care giver...

You go by many names, but one things for certain,

you will always be the most positive and most influential woman on the face of this earth...

A mother.
