My Mom is the Best!

I’m definitely not a poet

So I probably should not even be attempting this scholarship,

But my mom is the best

And I want everyone to know it!

When I was little my mom was my best friend

And I thought she’d be that until the end.

When I went to middle school

I decided my mom wasn’t cool.

I pushed her away,

But she showed me she was there to stay.

In high school I let her down,

But instead of greeting me with a frown

She was there by my side

Waiting with her arms open wide!

So when it became time for me to decide

What I wanted to be, the decision was easy to me...

I want to be a teacher just like my mom!

My mom taught me that my dreams are mine to achieve,

And that’s why I am pulling this bad home out of my sleeve.

I’m not a poet and I definitely know it,

But now everyone knows that my mom is the best!
