My Mom Did Not Cry

When my dad walked away

And left us astray,

My mom did not cry.

When we sold our home

And bought a new one alone,

My mom did not cry.

When my grandfather died

And we stood by his side,

My mom did not cry.

I learned to be strong

And that life is not long,

Because my mom never cried.

I learned that people need hope

And use you to stay 'float,

Because my mom never cried.

I learned how to be a woman

And will pass it on to my children,

Because my mom never cried.

Wow. I can relate. Kudos to you for allowing the experience, or that simple note to

have such a toll on you and you use it to empower yourself as well as those you love.
