To My Mom as I go to College

While I am away at college,

I'll think of you each day.

              Before I leave

There are just a few more things,

           I really need to say.

I've made you proud

as you watched me grow up,

It's time for me to fly.

So I'll take a step and don't look back

Because I may see you cry.

I will remember all the important things

that you taught me through the years.

I will also study hard and have some fun

and you will work through your fears.

I'll make the right decisions

as if you were right there next to me.

Since I've grown to be a beautiful woman;

I've filled your heart with pride.

As I am away at school

You'll be close in my heart.

knowing your love is always there

   even though we are apart.
