My Momma

I spent nine months with you before anyone

my day one

my inspiration.

When I was bullied at age 9

you helped me each time

and said, "Listen, baby girl you are precious and so beautiful"

the usual

She taught me to gain more confidence

the cognizance of knowing I was valued helped me prosper.

You taught me self-love by example and now my personality reflects that.

Today I am who I am because you taught me to be like you.

So all I have left to say is Thank you.
