My Mother

My educational goals for my senior year is to stay a straight A student. I am cracking the books and reviewing till I pass out for any ACT I can get my hands on to at least get a 27 ACT score instead of my current 22. The reason of I want to attend college was because my mother attended college in 1996 and she was going to school during the mornings, coming home and taking care mother in the afternoons because her mother was in her 3rd battle with cancer and was unable to work and care for herself very well, so after school she would have to go home and make her lunch, dinner, and bath her, and take care of her since home health didn’t come regularly as needed due to lack of income, until her step father was able to get home around 6 and then she would go home, and sleep from 7 to 9 in the evening then get up and work all night long until 7 in the morning and then go back to school, she did this for about a year, she was a complete wreck, probably the reason why she has so many health issues today, then her mother got even worse and was moved into the hospital and ended up passing in early ‘98 and when she did, she just couldn’t keep going, she was so emotional straut and mentally, physically exhausted she couldn’t do it anymore, so she dropped out with all intentions of going back, but ended up getting pregnant with me, and stayed home to raise me. Although she has a great life, it would be a lot easier financially to have an education to fall back on to have a good paying job to fall back on, and wants to make sure that I don't have to go through the hardships that she had to overcome.

The field of study I chose to be in is criminal justice, the reason of this is because I have always found a fasnaction of law and my mother was studying to major in criminal justice and I develop the same interests as her. I know there's a lot of crime in the world, but being able to just help, even if it’s barely anything, I want to do so.
