My mother
Your love like the moonlight
always outshined by the sun.
By nightfall,
illuminating even the most wretched weeds.
Your vioce,
smooth on my skin
gentle on my broken heart.
I do not have to dream,
your undenying love laying itself across my eyelids,
seeping into my flesh.
So I wonder,
if you regret it.
The nights when you are the moon.
Love strewn into invisible waves all about,
racing to bring me back to life.
Your sanity sacrificed,
for nothing in return.
Head still between your shoulders,
as you pick up mine.
Your love like a flower,
blooming out of your heart,
and into mine.
No matter a rose
a daffodil
a sunflower
I will always love you.
- your daughter
