My Mother Told Me..
I can remember what my Mom said to me,
She said please dont drink, and have a sprit instead.
So I kissed and huged my mom goodbye.
Im at the party, and everyone has a drink.
I can remeber what my mom had said,
She said please dont drink, and have a sprite instead.
I should have listened to my mom, instead
Im laying here with blood all around me,
and I all I can hear are the paramedics say;
Please call her parents, she is going to die ,
So I lay here, and say; Please tell my mom and dad
that I love them and I will miss them.
Im sorry I didnt listen and have a sprite instead.
So make sure my name is on a stone, and
Ill see them when its time, So please
Tell my mom that I will miss her and I love her..

Personal narrative about specific choice, though carries cautionary universal message
Multiple ideas densely packed: warning, party scene, accident, regret, final message
Extremely negative: death, regret, loss, fatal consequences throughout
Escalating intensity from dialogue to party to emergency to dying moments
Approximately 26 lines; falls in 16-30 range
Minimal figurative language; mostly direct, declarative statements with minimal ornamentation
Pure lyric internal voice; first-person confession and emotional reflection throughout
