my mother's music

my mother's music makes me sad

it's not supposed to make me sad

i hear my mother's music and i don't

know things again

i know what time tastes like and i don't want to

i can't play her cds anymore

her songs are damned to streaming services and the future

plenty of people have written about music

but this isn't music this is

my mother's music

she took it which her and

it's gone

it doesn't deserve to exist

it's so beautiful

ignorance is bliss and that's

the truth

is i still don't know things

but i know i love my mother and i miss her music
