My Muse
Once upon a time there was a girl
She didn't have a single care in the world
Love was the last thing on her mind.
She met a boy with a heart of gold
Every word he said had her sold
Little did she know he'd be the one to break her heart.
Years went by and times became harder
He treated her badly and called her names
Her reason for living became her reason for wanting to die.
He shouts, and he screams
The pain you feel won't go away
You beg, and you plead
But he wants nothing more than to push you away
Why do I continue to fight for someone who wants someone else
I hate myself for what I have become.
They fought and they fought until they parted ways
She laid in the bathtub in a depressive daze
Wondering what she had done to make him leave.
She pondered on the subject for the longest time
Always smoking cigarettes and drinking wine
Staring at the mirror wondering who she had become.
She shouts and she screams
The pain she feels won't go away
She begs and she pleads
But she wants nothing more than to throw her life away
Why do I continue to fight for someone who wants someone else
I hate myself for what I have become.
Years pass by and the pain subsides
She starts to accept that he's gone for good
Now she wants to focus on the things that are most important to her.
A man walks by her like an angel passing by
His gaze is nothing short of magnetic
He'll never like me
He'll think I'm pathetic
She finally gets the courage to talk to him
They laugh and get to know each other over a cigarette
Her ex is now a thing of the past
Because she's now found the man who captivates her
She laughs and dies a little inside
The joy she feels wont go away
She walks with him and feels like a child again
Why do I continue to sell myself short
He's the man I deserve
It's funny how life changes
One minute your dying inside,
the next minute you're revived and full of life
Storms sweep through, but the aftermath is the most beautiful part
I can't wait for my life with you to start.
