My Mustache

You knew you weren't a kid anymore when…

Your mustache slowly grew

No matter how small it was it still meant a lot.

This meant for you a transition into adulthood

As you touched your small mustache

You felt the power of it

For a Mexican male, a mustache is the invitation into adulthood

Every male that I saw on TV had a mustache

No matter how small, wide, big, or long

A mustache showed me I was a real man.

One day I shaved my mustache

to go back to my childhood self

only to realize

the more reminiscent I was of my childhood.

A mustache comes bak, but your childhood doesn't.
