My Mythical Creature

Being seen as an outsider, or simply not being seen at all.

Being of myth, you must be real

I know you are there, I know you exist

Can't detect nor touch but I indeed feel

That should be enough, to say the least

No one has noticed this mythical creature

But I do I stand by my beliefs... I simply just do...

This creature being unknown to matured texts or ancient scriptures

Allow me to document, I'll keep her true

A magnificent neck that morphs into a head

Much like a halo, wearing a luminescent crown

Azurite for eyes like several have said

A golden mane grandly cascading down

Almond-shaped face, with cheeks insignificantly scaled

In the center were dimple-like nostrils

From its mouth, a noise; demure and frail

Speaks in verses from a time-frozen still

Within the cage right beneath its chest

I know that calmly there lay beating

A vast, magnanimous heart does gently rest

Embedded deep within a physique so charming

Only no one notices

Its spine so whole as if forged by a divine mould

Limbs are long, but with a gait so light

Non-terrestrial wings that into nothing they fold

Stretched around its softened skin so pearly white

That is all I have to offer

Matched the words to my mind's delighting appearance

No one has seen it yet; thus ensured that they cannot disfigure

In my head will forever be drawn the image

Creature of myth... Please be real

I am the unfamiliar

The unknown

The stranger in a large crowd

No one sees me

It's not for the others, you don't unveil

Maybe it's only for me to understand.
