My New Calender

No one told me

that there would be nights

where I would weep

for no known reason.

Those days were not

marked in my calender.

No one told me

that there would be times

of pure happiness

found in unconventional days.

I guess there are some things

that you have to discover

for yourself.

There are days

of distress

and bliss

that you will want to

covet for yourself.

So always leave a small unmarked space

in your new calender.
