My new me
This is me
Id like to reintroduce myself firstly
Im 36 and i have been diagnosed with adhd
It doesnt define you, i hear them say
But how can it not ? The struggles ive had and there have been alot
Its a funny thing u may or may not agree
Its been there this whole time how didn't i see
So overwhelming and scary its true
Yet so powerful, colourful its a gift i can assure you
They say my brains wired differently which means i don't process things quite as quickly
But its ok, it is,i just ask for your patience,
It could take me a while, its true but i have the ability to get up and go
and see it through
Learning who you really are at 36 is no joke,
im a mother, a daughter, a sister a friend
Im still me i suppose but i need some help along this new road
Im turning this new me into a positive so dont worry,
they use words like hyperactivie, impulsive, distracted im not sure people understand fully
It has some down sides yes and
im still learning to manage the rest
It wont happen over night even if my adhd puts up a fight
Waiting isnt our strong point as im sure everyone of you have seen
I have no sense of time its like i am moving through a dream
Its not my fault even i want to scream
Im working on it all i promise youll see i jus ask for your kindness and understanding please
So this is my new me a proud 36 year old woman with adhd
