My Number One

I used to look in the mirror with shear guilt and shame

A new day felt so far in the distance I almost gave up

I was emitting hatred through every bone in my body you could see it coming through my skin

Feelings coming up so often it would break the common man

A new day

Laughter and joy has filled my heartI look at the ones I love with a great deal of empathy, remorse and loveI ponder about the day I can share my life with my son

I will show him that there are good people in this hateful world

I will grow with him so I can understand him on a deeper level

I will coincide with such passion that when night comes I will subconsciously pass-out
smile beaming from ear-to-ear

The day will come
