My Ocean

You come in and out of my life,
just like a wave that crashes upon
the shore and retreats back into
the big, blue sea.
Your sweet, salty mist infatuates
me, makes me fall in love with
something I can't touch.
And just like in this harsh reality
I'm in, you disappear
unexpectedly.
But, sadly, in both stories I
attempt to catch you, repressing
the fact that you're untouchable.
