My Old Eyes
When I close my weary eyes
I find the things that I despise
And in my heart the feelings rise
The ones that I can't stand
I am afraid of whats to come
And where all of the pain is from
Then I hear the beating drum
Of the man approaching
My eyes anticipate the worst
And as they open they are nursed
By the one who was never cursed
And I fully embrace him
Love is the only cause
That made the man cease and pause
And cover all the broken laws
that haunted my own heart
I recount all that happened to me
Of how the man so full of glee
With a heavenly decree
Healed my broken heart
But they only laugh and scoffs
They say im a pig in the wide troughs
And dismiss me with their bitter coughs
And condemn me to life alone
Despite the seclusion and ridcule
He sits upon a higher stool
And from my heart removes the spool
Of thread thats called "Despair"
He pulls me up out of the night
And promises never to take flight
He has already won the fight
Against the wicked blinder
