My Old Friend

Roland Carter was just like any old man.

Roland helped me remember I can.

I was troubled and he came

He even showed up for my game

Time was short but he taught me well

I knew that it was my time to accel

Roland taught the importance of laughter

An influence that will last hereafter

Speaking by example was his theme

One year went by just like dream

Roland got his wings to fly

I remember him now as the days go by
