My one and only

Day by day life seems to slip away,

but when I see your face it begins to race.

I wish we had more time because I love you.

I love you because I know you love me too.

You show me every day little by little,

when you with me you are never brittle.

It's not just because you are handsome and smart,

but because you loved me from the start.

You play with my hair after long days.

Rub my sores and pains away.

You are my one and only,

you are why I never feel lonely.

Even when my life was falling apart.

Even when I cried to the point where it hurt every night.

You still held my heart.

You my love never had a single thought to take flight.

You loved me enough to stay and build me back up.

You were my one string, you were enough.

I remember after a bad game you would tell me, "Beautiful keep your head up."

It's tough to say, but I always knew you were never a bluff.

Throughout ours years, I knew from day one you would always be here.

You are my one and only because I love you.

I found my one three years ago. I have written many poems about him, because he is the reason I am confident in myself and can take on life so well.
