My Only Friend

Escape from the medium

To find only myself left alone,

He looks at me with

Shivering eyes, He has not been

Himself for a long time

He is clean and strong

In there, in here. Life has

Crumbled before him

There. He lives in solitude,

But not peace

For I am war,

I am rage and death, I am

all things he wishes to avoid,

In life, for he has felt war,

And rage, and death, as strongly

At his core as at his surface

The sun cannot feel

Itself dying, so why

Does it cry tears

Of flame?
