My Only Passion

My art encourages me,

And amplifies my sound.

It embraces me for who I am,

And makes me feel free.

Unbound to the troubles that exist in this world,

Lost in time itself,

That is who I become.

Only when I receive one pencil and paper.

Could there be anything more joyful?

This bliss expression that I show and love,

It terrifies me when I realize that art isn't everlasting.

If my art were ever destroyed before my very eyes,

My pride would never allow me to only watch.

Rage would overflow from within,

Yet, sadness would slowly encroach me.

Each and every drawing contains a part of my unforgettable past,

The colors implode and devour the paper.

I balance all of the various things in life,

And incorporate them into what will be,

What is soon to be, and what shall be,

This is why I love and crave art.
