My Only Sunshine

Just hold me tight And tell me everything's alright Make the bad feelings go away What happened to those sunny days Filled with laughter and smiles They are covered over with dark angry clouds That make my pretty sun disappear Just hold me tight And tell me everything's alright Shield me from the encumbring grief That threatens to hinder me with its weight Push back those evil clouds To relive my stress Just hold me tight And tell me everything's alright Be there for me when the skies are no longer blue Cheer me up when no one else cares Give me some faith in myself Tell me tomorrow is another day Just hold me tight and never let me go And tell me that everything's alright even though it is no where near In my fear of the forever darkness Tell me that there is a bright silver lining I don't fear the pain as long you are with me My only sunshine This poem was based on a child's lullaby: You are my sunshine My only sunshine You make me happy When skies are grey You never know dear How much i love you So please don't take my sunshine away
