MY OPEN LETTER

MY OPEN LETTER

.

.

.

Dear God

I swear by your name

I am done

I quit

.

Forgive me for wanting to quit this way oh God

Forgive me for backing down like this

But the gospel truth is

This ain’t worth my time

.

I am tired of this life

Where I wake up

Very early in the morning

To a lie of the life of

Weed marijuana cannabis and heroin addiction

I quit that life

.

I am done living

The life of the lifeless

I am done having addiction

Sap the greater part of my productivity and my joy

I am done having addiction mess with the essence of my being

I am done with my affair with all these drugs

.

I sure know this

The road to recovery

Would be no easy road

There would be times that I know

I would wish for just a pull or a drag or possibly more

That there would be moments when it would seem like

My life would be a mess without these drugs

But the truth is my life is a mess thanks to these addictions

And that with God on my side

I would live to tell the success story

Of how I overcame you

.

This is my open letter to you drugs

Telling you that I want nothing with you anymore

And I would conquer you

.

.

.
