My Other Mind

He lives and breathes without a heart

He’s beside me through it all

I see him there although he’s not

He awakens at my call

He’s my better half, my right hand man

He reasons with my mind

He brings his logic to my anger

He’s gentle, he is kind

Though he’s not real, he’s bright as day

He’s helped me with no end

He brings my racing thoughts to rest

My imaginary friend
