My Overalls

My Overalls by Jasmine Exinia

Dark blue jeans Minnie on the pocket

Skechers lighting up when she stomps

Little girl in overalls just having fun

Putting frogs in her front pocket

Digging up worms, messing up plants

Little girl in overalls just having fun

Her brother making up plans

Mud pies and blue skies

Little girl in overalls just having fun

Patches on the knees

Eavesdropping on the adults

Little girl in overalls just having fun

Four pairs of them

Worn more than she can count

Little girl in overalls just having fun

All different colors and all different patches

Having to wash them 24/7

Little girl in overalls just having fun

Grown up no longer in use

Tucked away safe hoping one day someone else will wear them

Always smiling back at the memoires

That little girl in overalls always had fun
