My Own
I may write because I can…
Because I am selfish and it pleases only me.
I write because it is easy and only my words and beliefs are needed.
I write because I am given the ability to do so.
Yet
I am a poet because I write for Beauty which will never be mine
I am a poet because I share my own mind
I am a poet because I yearn for the love within a thin slice of paper
I am a poet because I share the words of others and
The reason I write is because the world is more than what is spoken.
