My Oxymoronic Plea

Freedom is what we fight for
But security is what we crave
And like a feign, I need it badly
Because all this freedom is trapping me
Making me unsure of the possibilities
Where as, security would secure me
From my mind
Cause at the moment it's running
Like the leaky faucet
And nothing will stop it
But some security
See, that would tuck me in at night
Just long enough to get me to sleep
So I can have sweet dreams
Or beautiful nightmares
Possibly any and everything in between
Because I'm searching for secure freedom
Or free security
In a world where the two is mutually exclusive
I need them intertwined
But maybe equal balance is something I'll never find
In this world where we ask for things we don't want
And reject the things we need most
Just to get by
While living this oxymoron
