My parents that I hold dear

Mom, you taught me how to think and act creatively,

And that is one of the reasons why I am getting a graphic design degree.

You taught me to crochet, sew, and knit,

For that I'll never forget one little bit.

Dad, you encouraged my love for reading, which I hold very dear,

And I look forward to the books you get me for my birthday each year.

You taught me to appreciate the world and its nature,

The sights, sounds, and smells: the most important features.

I thank you, my parents, for mentoring me,

So that I can be as unique as can be.

From the depths of the ocean to the stars up above,

I give you both all of my love.
