My Passion
Why I Write Scholarship
Passion is the reason for really doing something I believe. Poetry and writing are my passions. The gift that you must have in order to achieve this really intrigues me.
Poetry gives you a platform to vent your inner most thoughts. Sometimes, when I need an outlet, I just sit down at my table and begin brainstorming on life. Then, I just start writing what I feel. It allows me to let out all of my emotions that I have bottled up inside.
Of course, you have to start with a foundation which is school and education. This is where I started. English has always been my favorite subject in school. I am an honor student when it comes to this, literature, reading, and spelling. That is why I made this my major in college.
I of course, have a balance. I sometimes do it purely for the entertainment. I love joining with other people at “poetry nights” and “poetry contests” so we can show off our good works and have fun while doing it. It is a very enlightening experience. So, I love doing it for the fun of it.
It comes to me so natural that I can just do it all day. Writing is like my art and I am very creative with it. Until I started writing, I had absolutely no idea what I really wanted to do or be. But, now poetry helped me find my niche and I have stuck with it. I have gotten so good at it that I began to receive top reviews, scores, and recognition for my writing abilities. It was the way I am able to flow & rhyme with my writing that got me into a pattern.
The next step was for me to become more knowledgeable about things that could have a huge impact or affect your entire life. Sometimes, there is no one else to talk to so poetry gives you other options; like it’s you, your thoughts, and poetry. Not only you I later realized, but other people are helped when you really have a good message. A lot of times, people are going through things and they need help, guidance, and somebody to show them the way.
Motivation from within us is what probably inspires people to become authors, writers, novelists, and the list goes on. They have a voice as well as passion and want to be heard in this world. You separate and explain yourself so that people understand clearly. When you break it down and make it plain, people open up to you.
It’s a gift and a talent I truly believe for me. You give me a piece of paper and I could just write and write. I personally love doing it; it is my passion and that is why I wish to make a living doing it. I feel that if I can just help one person, I have accomplished something. It is nice to reach the masses, but sometimes you just got to start out with one to get one hundred.
