Anxiety freezes me into slow motion,

Making it so hard to breathe,

For my past just won’t stay away;

It just can’t resist me,

And all the opportunities to scare me;

My past is always all around me,

Forcing its way to me so I can’t shove it off,

Or pretend it isn’t there at all;

GO AWAY!!

I scream in my head,

STOP TERRORIZING ME,
