My Pearly Gate

If by punishment or by fate

I am sent to a far land

It is deserted and desolate

I am alone on this dry land

Nowhere to go or escape

All I see is this fine sand

I won't wish for a book nor mate

Not even for food or friend

I don't care how long I wait

None of that is in my plan

This island would be my pearly gate

If my family was on hand
