My Performance

I am not Silly, Blonde, or Shallow at home

home is where I am Me, Smart, Calm, Quiet; but not at school.

School expects something different from blonde teenagers

Teenagers who can be Gullible, Sweet, and Kind can't be Mature, too

Too many people find it strange, hard to understand

Understand this, I hate who I am at school, stereotypical

Stereotypical rumors start up from my stereotypical performance

Performance for the boy down the hall and the teacher in the classroom

Classroom Me; Smart, Calm, and Quiet; has to be an actor in the hallway

Hallway Boy only likes Silly, Blonde, and Shallow girls

Girls are cruel, everyone jealous of other girls' performances for the boys

Boys are cruel, telling tales in the locker room- untrue, but backed up by a fake reputation

Reputation I didn't want, but Silly girls have fun on Friday nights with anyone

Anyone sees a Blonde girl and thinks she has no  morals

Morals are forgotten by boys when they think a girl is too Shallow to see what is going on

On and on it goes, everyone wishing to be themselves, but no one making the first step

Step out of that shell, someday everyone will

will anyone I know get to see the real me? No

No one would like that girl I want to be

"Be yourself" is a joke as a senior

Senior girls would burn me aat the stake if I was to be real

Real Me can wait until college life

Life can start then; when all the mean girls here realize how stupid they were

Were they applying for scholarships and colleges? Or talking to boys?

Boys, who will work at McDonalds for the rest of their lives

Lives start now, so I keep my classroom Me, let people think Hallway Me is all there is

Is it a suprise I can't wait for graduation?

Graduation is when I am free from this performance I put on

On that night, people will see Smart Calm and Quiet Me

Me at home, will then be Me all the time
