My Personal Accomplishment

A personal accomplishment that I have is being able to sing in front of people. I always knew I had a voice because my mother’s side of the family is full of singers, drummers, guitar players, and piano players. We’re a family of musicians. I love to sing but when I was younger I would only sing to myself. I had stage fright but had a dream to grow up and become a singer. When I got to Middle School and was in the process of applying for high schools CAPA was the school I wanted to attend. I wanted to go for singing but I knew that this would force me to step out my comfort zone and to sing in front of people. When I got to the audition I thought I wouldn’t get accepted because I couldn’t read music. As I went through the rest of my middle school years and beginning of my high school years I started to realize that maybe singing isn’t my passion but I also noticed that not getting accepted helped me to open up more. Now I have a history of singing on choirs that’s been on tv and in competitions. And I also currently sing with my mother in church. This might seem like a small accomplishment to someone else but it was a big one for me.
