My Phobophobia

Throughout life, I had too much fear to count,
I've always been so afraid of acting,
Singing's a severe struggle to surmount,
Sometimes I'm scared of just interacting.

If only that said, you might think I'm dull,
True I would've just sat in bed impaired,
Were it not for my biggest fear of all:
I'm too scared of being scared to be scared.

I did not want to be controlled by dread,
I did not want to miss out on the world,
I decided to overcome instead,
Therefore I performed, I talked, and I twirled.

When I'm afraid, I take a breathe and pray,
Then I conquer my fear of fear that day.
