My Phone

Now this might be a bit stereotypical and a little cliche,

but as a teenage female I can whole heartedly say,

That if anyone ever took my phone away,

I would like literally die every second of the day.

I need my phone because in a sense it is a part of me,

And for this short time I need you to erase the stereotypes you always see,

I promise you I am not on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or Snapchat,

Jokes on you I'm everywhere but all of that.

You see I am with a friend,

Our relationship being held together by inside jokes and a unreliable internet connection,

I am at the movies,

Skimming through Netflix and Hulu's limited but entertaining selection.

I am with a lover,

Smiling and laughing as if we arent states apart,

I am at an Arcade,

Being frustrated by a game I can never seem to out smart.

I am at a concert,

Letting the bass swell inside my chest,

I am at a book store,

Following a hero on their noble quest.

I am every and anywhere,

Without ever leaving my bed,

But somehow people belive my generation's social ettiqute is holding on by a thread,

I am in Paris, Japan, Germany and Rome,

I am with my brother, my friend, a stranger,

Without ever leaving my home.

Now I hope you see why my phone is so improtant,

It is not just a metal rectangle meant to inported and exported,

It connects me to placed I would otherwise never be able to see,

It is a friendship, a relationship, it is me.
