My Phone
I am a ty
I'm a type 1 diabetic. Insulin dependent. Diagnosed at age 9.
I would have to say I would take a charged satellite phone on the island with me. Would use it to call my mom to bail me out. She would probably freak when she found out I somehow got on deserted island. My mom is a MOD. Mother of Diabetic. Its a hard life
Mom would freak when she found out I was on a deserted island. No mom I have no insulin, no pump, no needles, no water, no fast acting carbohydrates for lows, no pump supplies, no meter.
I would have first called 911, then mom. Mom would make sure they found me. MODs are like that.
While I await rescue I would look for fresh water to bring my now increasing blood sugar.don. Water will buy me some time. Not much. I know I will be in DKA in about 6 hours. Diabetic Keto Acidosis.
Not a good way to go. Nausea, dehydration, then coma.
I hope that rescue boat gets here quick. I seem to be up a creek with just this satellite phone.
