What is my one wish
One is so cruel
But perhaps that's cause the person asking for that one wish possess that same level of cruelty
But I'm not mean to other people
No, instead I'm mean to myself
My one wish would be to love myself the way I give love to other people
I tend to give the love I've always wanted to receive
Piece by piece
giving parts of myself away to others until there's nothing left for me
I'm now just fragments of the person I use to be
Molding myself to create new ones
Trying too hard to fit into the spots where I don't belong
Trying to fit into the picture of who I want to be
But not the person I am
Just to feel a part of something that I use to be
But no matter how hard I try
They just never fit the way my lost pieces did
All my good qualities being given to other people and only the bad ones left for myself
Swallowing me up in the isolation of my silence
I have become mean
Mean because can't love myself enough to see that none of them deserve those pieces of me
There are now so many missing pieces
I'm a puzzle that can't be solved
So come to me and ask
What is my one wish
No, I don't want things to make me rich
Or my family to forever be in good health
I wish that I can love myself
I wish for the pieces of me back
