To: My Poetry

I’m expecting you to respond to me.

Did you just feel what I wrote down?

When I saw your lines

I recognized them for what they were:

A lock

And a key.

Trusting you to carry my words for me and

Asking you not to open them up again for anyone but me.

I love you poem,

yet as I write

Please keep in mind that my words are not defining you-

Showing not merely another poem-

They are reflecting me.

But it takes a broken pride

To not hide the flaws of my personality

And let my failures teach me a lesson.

This poem is about:
Me
