Everyone has a reason for loving poetry

In a way, it's not much different for me

Poetry has always been a way to connect

To my own little world, and everything in it

I picked up my pen and have never stopped writing

Writing my poems, they have all changed me

They have given me purpose when I thought I had none

Poetry has overcome me and won

Every idea like a war in my head

Even when I sleep sound in my bed

I'm constantly thinking of what to write

Most ideas have won the fight

Being a poet is important to me

Because it's what I am

I will continue to write my poems and live my life

Even if no one understands it
