My Poetry Story

It all started ages ago.

I was in second grade, being forced to memorize and present a poem for the week.

No matter how much I disliked it, I had to follow the flow.

The reward from a perfect score was what I used to seek.

As time passed, however, I started to have fun.

Reading the rhyme scheme of a poem made me feel happy.

I would love to tell my second grade teacher “Thanks a ton.”

Although my favorite genre is romance, it could get pretty sappy.

Ever since second grade, poetry is the only writing I like to do.

Thus, I learned that it is not always a bad thing to be forced to do something.

Songs have rhyming too,

So I love to rap and sing.

I am now ending my rhyme.

Well, it is about time.
