This is my prayer

I would be lying

If I never told you that you are

One of the most tender souls

I have ever met

And I would be lying if I never said

That I would care for you with all my love

You showed me God

Not in the way that you meant to

But I have found something to pray to

And I know the universe can listen

Last night I prayed for you

To be happy and healthy and well

I would be lying

If I said I didn't feel for you

But it's not my fault

What is there to do

When you're leaving soon

And your heart belongs to someone else

Realism is knowing that I can never have you

Give you a hermit crab named Melvin

And one named Blank Page

They will give you the company you need

I will fold my laundry and clean

Provide an ear or a heart when you need

And my prayer will come to you

For you to find a home and confidence

To provide for you a shelter to place your valuables

And my God will show me what my path is

Show me my body is my safe place and it's okay to share

You will find somebody who you can sing your song to

And that love will be true
