My Reality

I am a black man

Yes it's true

You see me, but my skin color stands out to you

I have feeling and emotions the run high

My love for music and math soar to the sky

But in my life I have been turned down

By how I walk and how I talk

My life isn't like yours filled with accomplishments

My failures make it real not a fairytale

I love how I get through the day

Hoping that something amazing comes my way

But this is a reality

Not a dream

It's my reality

And that;s not hard to believe
